FAQ's
DO YOU ACCEPT UNSOLICITED SCRIPTS?
Harpy Productions cannot accept or consider any unsolicited scripts, formats, ideas, treatments, outlines, storylines or synopses of any nature. We have our own development team generating ideas and working on existing projects. Should you nevertheless submit unsolicited materials, you acknowledge that your submission may contain ideas which are the same or similar to ideas that have already been developed, or may be developed in the future, by Harpy Productions or other third parties without use of your submitted materials. Harpy Productions does not read or consider any unsolicited material and it will be destroyed or returned to you.
I DO NOT HAVE AN AGENT - IS THERE STILL A WAY I CAN SUBMIT MY WORK TO YOU?
A One Page Pitch. Be sure to briefly introduce yourself, provide a summary of your piece and what you would like to achieve from working with Harpy Productions. Please note that pitches any that have scripts / pieces of work attached will be treated as 'unsolicited' and consequently, your pitch will not be considered.
WHERE DO I NEED TO BE BASED IN ORDER TO WORK WITH YOU?
We will only be able to fully develop scripts and work towards creating live pieces of theatre with creatives who are based in the UK. For audio dramas, we are happy to consider work from those based outside of the UK.
DO YOU YOU PROVIDE SCRIPT CONSULTATION? CAN I APPLY FOR THIS IF I AM BASED OUT OF THE UK?
You may request a consultation if you are based outside of the UK, although this is on a case by case basis. When you contact us with your enquiry, make sure to disclose that you are based outside of the UK and be clear about what it is you would like us to assist you with.
ARE THERE ANY GENRES OF WORK YOU WILL NOT ACCEPT?
We do not accept scripts for musical pieces. Aside from that, not necessarily, but it is best to use common sense. Think about the themes and the way in which the story is told. Liaise with your Agent and see if we are a good fit for your work. If you are unsure, please ask!
"WICKED WOMEN"...? DOES THAT MEAN I CANNOT WORK WITH YOU IF I AM A MAN?
Of course you can! Harpy is run by 'Wicked Women' but that doesn't mean you have to identify as one! Our Production Company is definitely more focused on working with female-identifying persons and minority groups, but that does not mean we will exclude your work if you have a great idea! Cis-gender / male-identifying persons are welcome also.
I HAVE SUBMITTED A PIECE OF WORK / MY ONE PAGE PITCH. BUT HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM YOU?
Noga and Katie work independently on various projects outside of Harpy Productions, and so will not always be available to monitor the Harpy email box. However, they are committed to answering as many emails as possible and provide feedback to everyone who has contacted.
IF MY PITCH IS SUCCESSFUL, WHAT HAPPENS THEN?
There are a few stages after the initial submission process. But to start with, if Harpy Productions is interested in potentially developing your work, we will first arrange a zoom call to meet with and learn more about you, the original writer. This will also be a chance to share any notes we have on the piece and share ideas as to the route we could take to develop it. (If there are any other individuals attached to the piece, we would like to meet with them as well).
